Brief Statement
If you have clicked on this page you probably have some very definite beliefs. For those who want a more in-depth look at our beliefs click on Doctrine. If you are interested in a brief understanding of what is important to us click on Core Values. Both of these pages are common to many churches who consider themselves part of the Brethren in Christ family (denomination). If you want to know what we emphasize as a local congregation, it is probably best that you visit us. Regardless of what is written down on paper, the way that people behave is really what demonstrates what they believe and value.
One thing that is a bit unique to our local fellowship is the level of tolerance for personal convictions. Who Jesus is (second person in the Trinity; fully God and fully man), and what He came to do (incarnate, live perfectly, pay for our sin, overcome death through resurrection, and return for His own) are non-negotiable for us. These beliefs define us. However, regarding many other things, we may disagree. While many of us hold strong convictions about these "other things," we are convinced that individual relationships are of paramount importance to God. Adiaphory (fancy word for non-essential) should not separate us. We also believe that as we submit to the Spirit, the Bible, and one another, God will lead us into all truth. Jesus was full of grace and truth; we, however, are only growing in both.
